The beautiful Bodleian library in Oxford boasts not only stunning architecture but also a copy of almost every book ever written making it a bookworm’s ideal home. Combine this with the presence of Philip Pullman and you’ve got yourself a literary dream.
Streaming this incredible event live to Facebook with Electromedia for Pullman’s latest release in such iconic surroundings was an honour. After liasing with the university’s admin team beforehand, we knew they had access to plenty of bandwidth, but in order to integrate with their current system and security, the admin had to assign our MAC address to a predetermined VLAN. Internet usage on the day was therefore plain sailing.
On arrival we focused on getting an audio feed from the in-house team. With audio sorted and the FS7 in place to capture all the action, we could begin the stream.
Collaborating with Ian Royal and Electromedia made for a great event and a hugely successful stream which now has over 27,000 views on Facebook alone and over 1800 reactions.
Clearly combining literary and architectural greatness is a winning combination for streaming!
